13 Feb Alex Teel, House Financial Services Committee Aide, Joins Rich Feuer Anderson
Former Staffer to Chairman Emeritus Brings Clients Expertise In Financial Policy and Institutions at Time of Unprecedented Complexity
WASHINGTON, D.C., February 13, 2014 – Rich Feuer Anderson announced today that Alex Teel, an aide on the House Financial Services Committee, will join the financial services lobbying firm, providing clients value-added policy advice based on expertise in financial institutions and markets at a time of unprecedented complexity.
Teel brings a wide-ranging policy and government affairs background to Rich Feuer Anderson, having served as Designee to House Committee on Financial Services Chairman Emeritus Spencer Bachus and previously as a Professional Staff Member to both the Domestic Monetary Policy and Technology Subcommittee and the International Monetary Policy and Trade Subcommittee.
“Alex’s experience and extensive knowledge of domestic and global financial institutions and their interconnectedness will further build out the unique value we deliver to our diverse base of financial services clients,” said founding principal Peter Rich.
“His appreciation for the increasingly complex interplay among politics, policy and regulation impacting the financial services sector will provide the edge clients need in developing their government relations strategies,” added partner John Anderson.
“Our clients are in uncharted territory, with markets behaving in new and different ways, with policymakers responding with volumes of regulations, and with the Federal Reserve taking on an unprecedented role,” added founding principal Mitchell Feuer. “Alex’s front-row seat on these developments – working with the Fed, legislators, regulators, international financial institutions and trade agencies on issues ranging from increased transparency, money-laundering, cybercrime, emerging payments and export promotion – position him to bring benefits to our clients that few Capitol Hill staffers can offer.”
“I am honored at the opportunity to build on Rich Feuer Anderson’s many successes and its effective representation of the financial services industry,” said
Teel. “In today’s global economy, I look forward to strengthening our partnership with financial institutions and all aspects of the financial services industry and advancing policies that can empower our clients to thrive for years to come.”
As Designee to House Committee on Financial Services Chairman Emeritus Spencer Bachus (R-AL), Teel provided counsel on a wide range of policy and regulatory proposals affecting all aspects of financial markets and institutions. Previously, as Professional Staff Member, Teel worked on key legislative initiatives and helped steward the passage of the Export-Import Bank Reauthorization of 2012, and staffed the Speaker’s Cyber Security Task Force on behalf of the Financial Services Committee. Earlier, Teel served as a Legislative Assistant supporting Rep. Mick Mulvaney’s (R-SC) work on the Committee on Financial Services.
Teel received a B.S. in Finance and a M.A. in Applied Economics from the University of Alabama.
